Hi, my name’s Col and I am the owner of Speedie Shoe Repairs, but before you start thinking that we’re just your average shoe repair kiosk, we’re much more than that; our speciality at Speedie Shoe Repairs is actually providing cheap car keys. I’m your local key cutting specialist, and I’m really good at it, but the best part is that I’m cheap.
Do you need a car key cut? We’re based in Helensvale on the Gold Coast. If you go to Helensvale Westfield, you won’t find us there because we are in Helensvale Plaza next door by the library.
Why keys?
When I left TAFE I got a job and learned the trade. Back 20 years ago when I got into the business of shoe repairs, engraving, watch battery replacements and house and car key cutting there wasn’t all the electronic car keys we see today; over the years I’ve upskilled to ensure I know the latest trends and technology in car key cutting. I cut so many car keys every day, I think I could potentially do it in my sleep. I give 100% to every job, because every job is a reflection of me, and I am proud of the quality workmanship I deliver.

Helensvale is a pretty centralised location, so people pop in on their way to and from work, and I cut their car keys while they wait. My prices are cheap, the quality is second-to-none, and I’m friendly, even if I do say so myself.
When I’m not cutting keys
When I’m not working at Speedie Shoe Repairs, I am spending time with my wife and three children. The kids are still young, and I like to make the most of my free-time. I do practice what I preach, and I do always have spare house keys and car keys at home just in case, I know just the guy to do it for me.
Having grown up in Canberra, which is a little cooler than the Gold Coast, I love getting out and about on the weekends. We take the kids to the beach, theme parks, nature reserves, and explore everything this beautiful part of the world has to offer.
